About Local Junction
Local Junction is a community marketplace for the Indian state of Uttarakhand. We help locals, small businesses, drivers and hosts reach the people nearby who need them — and help travellers find honest, useful information before they set into the hills.
Why we exist
In the mountains, the most reliable information still travels word of mouth: who is offering a ride to Haldwani, which homestay has rooms this week, whether a road above Joshimath is open. National platforms are built for cities. Local Junction is built for districts, towns and villages — and for the people who actually live there.

How we make money (and don't)
We take no commission on rides, stays or jobs — you deal directly with locals. Local Junction earns only from optional promotions that businesses choose to buy for extra visibility. That keeps our incentives aligned with the community, not with taking a cut of your livelihood.
