Local Junction is a community marketplace for Uttarakhand — jobs, cab routes, homestays, local services, sacred places and travel guides are listed by residents and travellers. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

• Account details — when you register we collect your name, email address and, optionally, a mobile number and your preferred district.
• Listing content — when you post a ride, stay, job, promotion or service you provide details such as title, description, price, photos, route or location, and a contact method so buyers can reach you.
• Enquiry & report messages — the text you submit through our contact and report forms, including the email you send us from.
• Technical data — device type, approximate region, pages viewed and basic analytics, used to keep the site stable (especially on mobile) and to improve it.

2. How we use your information

• To display your listings so locals and travellers can find them.
• To let interested users contact the listing owner directly.
• To provide paid promotion placements you buy.
• To respond to enquiries, reports and safety issues, and to meet legal obligations.

3. What is shown publicly

The details you enter on a listing — including any phone number or contact method you choose to publish — are visible to visitors on that listing page. Please only publish contact information you are comfortable sharing publicly. We never publish your password, and we do not sell your personal data.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers we trust to operate the site (hosting, email delivery, analytics and payment processing where applicable), and with authorities when required by law.

5. Data protection & your rights

We handle personal data in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. To do so, use our Contact form from the email address on your account and tell us what you need.

6. Retention & deletion

We keep account and listing data while your account is active. You can delete a listing from your dashboard, and you can ask us to close your account. Deletion requests are actioned within 30 days, except records we must keep by law.

7. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies to remember your location choice, keep you signed in and measure site usage. You can clear them in your browser at any time.

8. Children & safety

Local Junction is intended for adults. Listings must not be used for anything unlawful. If you believe a listing is fraudulent, misleading or unsafe, please report it immediately.

9. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above. Material changes will be announced on the site.
